LCHRMA Scholarship

Lower Columbia Human Resources Management Association once again partnered with the Astoria-Warrenton Area Chamber of Commerce's Business Education Committee to select and award our annual $500.00 scholarship to local area high school senior.

Marlie Cokley has been selected as the 2006 LCHRMA Scholarship winner.  Marlie is a 2006 honors graduate of Astoria High School.  She had four years of outstanding accomplishments including:  3.5 GPA; National Honor Society; President, Business Leaders of Tomorrow; Public Relations Officer, Key Club; Captain, American Cancer Society Relay for Life; Student Body Arts Coordinator; Student Body Athletic Awards Director; Captain, Girls Varsity Basketball; Leading Scorer, Girls Varsity Soccer; and numerous awards for Girls Golf including, MVP, 2nd Place Finish – Girls State Golf, 1st Team All-State, Astoria Country-Club Champion and many more.

Marlie plans to attend Santa Barbara City College, where she has been recruited to play on the Women’s Golf Team, and then transfer to a four-year college or university in California.  Marlie has exemplified leadership, hard work, dedication, and perseverance throughout her high school career, and LCHRMA is proud to be able to make a small contribution in helping her achieve her dream.
